Since 1964, Kline's has been serving its homemade ice cream at this location. One of Harrisonburg's best known landmarks, it features take out windows and outdoor seating. As was the trend in the 1960's, the exterior walls are finished with pink and white tiles and an orange steeple adorns the peaked roof. Little has changed at the store over the last four decades. New sliding glass windows have been installed and a third window added. The walk-in cooler has had a face lift and the old heating and cooling system has been replaced. (In the old days, Johnny and Bess Kline used to keep their extra cash in the furnace overnight until they went to the bank. Good thing there was never a fire!)

Long lines are common at this location, sometimes stretching all the way to the street. The wait time is short, though, as employees quickly scoop up treats and customers socialize. It is a town gathering place where people often run into friends, neighbors, and family. The parking lot is spacious allowing for lots of room to gather. Kline's previous location on Main Street from 1943 to 1964 was geared more towards foot traffic. (See the History of Kline's for more information about the original location).

On the west side of the building, Dave's Smokin' Pig also operates a take-out business with outdoor seating available. Dave serves up great barbeque as well as sandwiches and salads. The Smokin' Pig has been in operation since 1996. From the 1960's until the mid-1980's, this side of the Kline's building was occupied by the old Capital Discount Drug Store.

Customers can enjoy covered seating at this location. It is open year round and offers a private banquet room for parties and meetings. In addition to homemade ice cream, this store offers barbeque sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers, and specialty dessert items.

Originally built as a Bonanza steakhouse in 1979, the location was secured by Kline's in 2002. This big barn shaped building has been remolded to create a unique eating atmosphere. The front walls have been removed and the ceiling raised to create a breezy, open air pavillion. Kites hang from the ceiling to give this place a beach feel. Garage doors have been installed to allow the pavillion to be closed at night and during the winter months creating an enclosed eating area during inclement weather.

Kline's Staunton location opened in 1997 and was originally located just down the street from its present location. It operated out of an old Kentucky Fried Chicken building and closely resembled the Wolfe Street, Harrisonburg location. In need of a larger parking lot, the business moved to its current location in 2002.

Similar to the downtown location on Wolfe Street, this location features take-out windows and outdoor seating. With the continued growth of Harrisonburg and the popularity of Kline's, construction of a new building took place on the south side of town, and opened in 2005. Dubbed the "Motor Mile", the South Main Street site is located near the various car dealerships on Route 11 past Dukes Plaza. The building is divided in half and also houses a Subway sandwich shop.
